"When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and discovered that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they were amazed and recognized these men had been with Jesus."
- ACT 4:13

Bold Vision

For the sake of furthering God's glory broader and deeper, we will continue to look at God's Word, sing, and pray to help us determine what a deeper level of engagement means for each one of us and how may we accomplish our next ministry goals together.

BOLD Steps

WHAT’S NEXT?

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

PRAY PERSISTENTLY

Ask God to reveal his BOLD step for you and for the FCC family to respond to His vision for our next chapter.

COMMIT FULLY

Commit to take the next BOLD step of your story and help us reach our goal of 100% engagement.

CELEBRATE LOUDLY

God is going to do amazing things in your life during this season. Own the BOLD vision by enthusiastically sharing your story with those around you.

GIVE GENEROUSLY

Live and give in a BOLD way that changes your story, revealing to others that you have been with Jesus.

What is a One Fund?

You may have participated in a church campaign in which you were challenged to give a second gift ‘above and beyond’ your usual giving for a specific initiative, such as a new
building. In that case, you gave to the ‘Building Fund’ while you also continued with your regular giving to the ‘General Fund.’

This type of designated giving is potentially confusing for anyone who does not have a baseline for their ‘usual giving.’ It also may alienate anyone who is unable to increase their giving and contribute to the ‘Building Fund.’

At FCC, we want to celebrate every gift given! We’re all on ONE MISSION – the mission to boldly proclaim the Gospel and make disciples. Leadership has decided we’re going to give to FCC in one fund for this next season of ministry expansion. Let’s celebrate the totality of our generosity growth as disciples of Jesus.

We’re all on ONE MISSION - the mission to proclaim the Gospel and make disciples

The BOLD initiative will last for two years. During those two years, every gift that is given will go to the key components of this initiative – our general ministry budget, ministry expansion through the investment in our new facility, and continued investment in reaching those far from Jesus.

FAQs

If we are committing to BOLD, how does this change my giving to missions, the general fund, or other special offerings?

Every gift made will go into the same fund and will be our BOLD giving. There will not be separate funds. During this two-year period, every contribution to God is a contribution to our BOLD initiative. Every aspect of the ministry God is calling us towards for the next two years will be funded through BOLD.

What are you asking me to do?

First and foremost, we are asking that you pray. Seek God's leading on what He is asking of you. Prepare your heart to hear Him. Listen to what He says. Step in to a LifeGroup during this season, if you haven't already engaged in one. Engage in personal reflection with God. Make good use of this BOLD guide. Talk with your spouse, your family, your group, friends, or others about what this commitment will mean for this next exciting season of your life. We are asking that you make a commitment to gospel-driven, BOLD generosity – whatever it is that God leads you to do. Follow His leading.

Prepare to be amazed. He is an awesome God that we serve! We anticipate He will move in huge ways as we seek an unprecedented impact from our collective BOLD commitments. Mark your calendar for Commitment Sunday, November 14. It will be a life-changing worship service that will forever be remembered as a defining moment for our church and for your own faith.

Are there additional ways besides cash that I can give more towards BOLD?

Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give towards BOLD. You might have some stocks, property, or other items of that nature. You may have some stored resources that God has blessed you with in the past that He might be calling you to give out of during this time. Let us know if you need assistance with facilitating gifts of property or stock, and we would be happy to help you with that. You can contact Jim Storms at jstorms@fcchh.org and 937-236-8029 to make a gift of this type.

What if I don't have a job right now? What does that mean for my BOLD commitment?

BOLD is about your total, prioritized, gospel-driven generosity to God's mission at FCC. We believe that God calls us to action in times of hardship just as much as He does in times of abundance, and that looks di?erent for every person. BOLD is about a heart surrender - one that is only accomplished by seeking the Lord and responding to His call and His Word. So that may mean that you are being challenged to sell things, to pick up odd jobs, or even to trust God in faith by making a commitment that you don't quite know how to fulfill right now but that you believe God will provide for as you seek for ways to sacrifice and work towards that commitment. We would love for 100% of us to be a part of BOLD so that we can all be supporting, loving, encouraging, and praying for one another through this spiritually-stretching season at FCC.

How long is my commitment?

This is a two-year commitment. The fulfillment period for your commitment will begin with our First Big Give on Sunday, December 5, 2021 and it will culminate in December of 2023.

What if I am significantly in debt right now? Am I still supposed to give?

We commend you for making progress on reducing your debt and you should continue to do so. We would be happy to help you in this journey and/or to recommend a budgeting class that might minister to you. Being in debt does not, however, make someone "excused" from giving. Giving isn't about what God wants from you; rather, it's about what God wants for you. So it should be our joy and privilege to give at all times, regardless of the amount or percentage. Please contact us if you would like to speak with a budgeting counselor, and we would be honored to help.

What if I am new around here?

BOLD is about the vision for our church and our personal discipleship in giving as followers of Jesus. We believe that the local church is one of the most compelling missions to give towards. FCC can be your home and you can join us in BOLD. You are an important part of the team!

What if I have never even given to FCC before?

If you have never given before, this is your chance to get in the game with committed giving. BOLD was crafted specifically with you in mind. BOLD is a "one fund" generosity initiative. It is di?erent from a traditional capital campaign where you are called to give an extra gift above and beyond your normal giving. BOLD is a call to surrendered, gospeldriven generosity for absolutely everyone at FCC.

What if I haven't been baptized yet?

whether you have taken the spiritual step of baptism or whether you haven't yet, we would encourage you to still join us in this BOLD initiative. People take di?erent spiritual steps at di?erent times. Giving is another important next step, and it comes at di?erent times for di?erent people. One thing is for sure, just like other spiritual disciplines, giving draws us closer to God. And God is calling ALL of us to give. Jesus says, "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:19) We firmly believe that it will draw you closer to God. This will lead you to a place where you are ready to make the decision to become baptized and to surrender your life to the Lordship of Christ.

Where is FCC relocating? (Are we staying or leaving Huber Heights?)

The Lord has not yet revealed or provided the new site. Therefore, we cannot state with certainty where the new location will be. However, we trust God already knows where He is taking FCC and we want to be ready for this next step when He reveals the new site to us.

We know God is at work in preparing a new location just as he was at work in the sale of the property across the street. Before it was ever on the market, we had two buyers make o?ers above estimated value. At the height of the pandemic in 2020, the property was sold without the assistance of a realtor. God is never late in revealing His plan but rarely early.
