WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • In essential beliefs - we have unity"...There is one Body and one Spirit...one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all..." Eph. 4:4-6

  • In non-essential beliefs - we have liberty..."Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters..." Rom. 14:1

  • In all our beliefs - we show love"...If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains - but have no love, I amount to nothing at all." 1 Cor. 13:2

The Essentials We Believe

ABOUT GOD

We believe in one true God, as revealed in Scripture to be Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three forms: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 9:6; John1:1; John 14:7-11; I Timothy 3:16; I John 5:7

ABOUT JESUS CHRIST

We believe Jesus is fully and eternally God, by whom all things were made, and through the incarnation he also became fully man. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God who came from heaven to redeem mankind by living a perfect life and dying on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now serves as our high priest and mediator between God and people.

Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:14; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Colossians 2:8-9; I Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 4:14-15;

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully and eternally God and convicting people of their need for salvation, drawing them into faith in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit indwells all followers of Jesus, empowering them to live holy, sanctified lives growing into the fullness of Christ.

John 14:16-17; 16:7-13; I Corinthians 2:12; 3:16

ABOUT THE BIBLE

We believe all scripture, in its entirety, is given by inspiration from God and is wholly true. The teaching authority of the Bible is absolute, supreme, and final presenting the complete revelation of God's will for the redemption of mankind and every matter of Christian faith and practice.

Psalm119:105; II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21

ABOUT HUMAN BEINGS

We believe all human beings are created in God's own image and have inherent value and equality before God. When mankind fell through disobedience to God, our sin and guilt made us subject to God's wrath and condemnation, alienating us from God's will.

Genesis 1:27; 3:1-23; Isaiah 53:6; 59:1-2; Romans 3:23

ABOUT SALVATION

We believe salvation from the consequences of sin is God's free gift of grace through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. In his substitutionary death, Jesus atoned for the sins of mankind. By his resurrection we are reconciled back to our Heavenly Father. There is salvation through no other name than Jesus Christ. Scripture affirms salvation comes to those who repent of sin and express faith in Christ by uniting in his death, burial, and resurrection through baptism by immersion in water.

Mark 16:16; Luke 9:23; John 1:12-13; 3:5; Acts 2:38; 4:12; 17:30

ABOUT BAPTISM

When you're baptized, you're buried with Christ, and in baptism, you are also raised in Christ. Baptism is a picture of a burial, and so we baptize by immersion, the way that Jesus was baptized and the Bible commands.  Download video message for further teaching about baptism HERE.

Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; 22:16; Romans 6:4-6; Galatians 3:27; 1 Peter 3:21

ABOUT ETERNITY

We believe mankind is created with a spiritual soul that exists eternally. After life on earth, our soul takes on a new body and exists eternally with God in a literal heaven or will be eternally separated from God in a literal hell.

John 5:28-29; 11:24-25; Revelation 20:15

ABOUT MARRIAGE

We believe the marriage relationship is created by God to join together a man (biological male at birth) and a woman (biological female at birth) as husband and wife in a legally solemnized union.

Genesis 2:18; 21-24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9
